Hvar and the "Pakleni islands"

The island Hvar is one of the most popular sailing destinations in Croatia – middle Dalmatia for charter skippers in the Mediterranean
Sailing from the west into the Pakleni channel , the old town of Hvar is visible from far away. With good winds you can sail directly to the town.  From the oldtown harbor you have a wonderful panorama view from your charterboat to fortress „Spanjola“ , to the impressive cathedrale and the monastery of the Franciscan. With some luck you can find a berth directly at the promenade (20 berths with water and electricity).  Absolutely worthwhile is sitting in front of  the famous Cocktailbar “Carpe Diem” in the evening hours.
To get away from  the town and find some  piece, just sail on the other side of the channel with your sailingyacht. Here are the “Pakleni Islands”  with sheltered  and quiet bays (e.g. Vinogradisce or  Soline). You can also find a berth for your yacht in the marina “Palmizana” on the island Sv. Klement. Take a walk from the marina on the other side of the island, passing nice exotic  vegetation and  pine trees.  Visit one of the 2 restaurants of the “Meneghellos” – this is an italian family who came here in the thirties.
Another possibility is to take the small ferry to Hvar town and enjoy the agile nightlife there and come back with the ferry to the Marina and spend a quiet  night there on your charterboat.
