Leasing means to purchase through a finance company and become (after an income analysis of the applicant) tenant or owner of the boat until the termination of the contract. After termination you will be owner.
You can also terminate the lease in advance or resell the lease contract to any person (after an income analysis of the successor).
The installments are collected from the finance company by means of a bank debt.
Sail Yachting offers both Italian and French leasing:
Italian Leasing allows you to pay VAT at 10% (for sailing boats from 10 mt to 24 mt) or at 12% (for sailing boats up to 9,99 mt) for the duration of the lease. The expenses for inquiry, registration and notarial records shall be borne by the shipowner.
The deposit can range from 20% to 50% and the instalments from 36 to 179 monthly instalment. The surrender of the lease is about 1%. After the surrender the data of the leasing company will be erased from the navigation book and you will be shipping owner.
French Leasing offers a lease with the French tax (TVA) at 9.8% (for sailing boats from 7,5 mt to 24 mt) for the duration of the lease. The boat is registered in France at an harbour-office and will carry the French flag. The expenses for inquiry and for registration in France shall be borne by the shipowner.
By French registration the boat needs only a name and no number plate, but the shipowner has to pay a parking fee, that varies according to the boat length (about 300 Euros up to 11 mt).
The deposit can range from 20% to 50% and the instalments from 36 to 179 monthly instalment. The surrender of the lease is about 0,10%.
